Privacy Notice.
This notice explains how we handle information when you play Purgatory Guardian, choose to share game analytics, or submit a support report.
Last updated: 25 October 2026 · Notice version: game-privacy-1.1
Gameplay, hardware and performance analytics start only with your permission. You can play without sharing.
Public-player raw analytics expire after 90 days. Steam and Epic playtests follow this same rule.
You choose whether to send a report and which available attachments or player information to include.
Who is responsible
Gamut Studio, the independent team developing Purgatory Guardian, is responsible for the information described here. Contact: [email protected].
This notice covers the game and game support. Visits to this website are covered by our Website Privacy Notice. Store and platform services have their own privacy notices.
Optional game analytics
With your permission, we collect the following to improve game balance, fix bugs, and improve performance and stability:
- Gameplay: maps visited, play time, progression, objectives, combat, deaths, items, upgrades and in-game currency.
- Hardware and software: CPU/GPU models, processor core counts, OS and graphics driver versions, RAM/VRAM and graphics API.
- Settings and performance: graphics/display settings, per-map FPS and frame-time summaries, hitches, loading times and game memory use.
- Technical context: random installation, session and gameplay identifiers, event times, game version, platform/store and approximate country derived from the connection.
These analytics are pseudonymous personal data: random identifiers can connect activity from the same installation. We do not include your name, email address, hardware serial numbers or store account ID in analytics. Information you choose to submit in a support report is described below.
Your choices and our legal basis
Optional analytics rely on your consent. Providing them is not required to play, and declining does not affect gameplay.
You can withdraw consent in Settings at any time. This stops collection and clears unsent analytics. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it. Contact us about retained information or to exercise your rights below.
We do not sell game analytics or use them for advertising profiles.
Support and bug reports
You can send a support report whether or not you allow analytics. Reports contain your submitted text, a report ID/time and basic game/platform information. You can review and choose optional screenshots and game diagnostics, such as the map, in-game position, inventory and progression. A player-data choice can link a report to existing consented analytics. An optional email address is used for follow-up.
We use reports to investigate problems and verify fixes. Under GDPR, handling your support request relies on our legitimate interest in responding and maintaining the game; optional diagnostic sharing and email follow-up rely on consent. Handling privacy requests and required records relies on applicable legal obligations.
Only send information relevant to the problem. Avoid passwords or unrelated personal information in descriptions and screenshots.
How long we keep information
- Public-player analytics: 90 days from session start, followed by routine deletion. This includes Steam and Epic playtests.
- Verified internal studio tests: while needed for development and game support, with reviews at relevant milestones and deletion when that purpose ends.
- Support reports and attachments: 90 days. Limited identifiers used to prevent resubmission of deleted reports can remain for a further 90 days.
- Bug-tracking records and correspondence: while needed to investigate and resolve issues, support recurring problems, handle requests or meet legal obligations. Continued need is reviewed when an issue or request closes.
- Anonymous statistics: may be kept indefinitely only where individuals can no longer reasonably be identified.
Retention and applicable deletion requirements also cover identifiable exports and recovery copies. Records legally required to be preserved are restricted to that purpose and period.
Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and withdraw consent.
Right to object: you can object, based on your circumstances, where processing relies on legitimate interests.
Email [email protected]. Include a report ID if relevant; we may request a random player/installation ID or other proportionate information to locate records and verify your request. We handle requests under applicable law, normally within one month for GDPR requests. Truly anonymous statistics cannot be linked to an individual request.
You can complain to your local data protection authority, including the relevant EEA authority, UK ICO or Privacy Protection Authority.
Changes to this notice
We update this page when our practices change. New purposes or expanded collection that require consent will be presented for a fresh choice before they start.
